Welcome to the CDXZipStream August 2013 Newsletter
We've added a new feature to the CDXClosestZip
function: the ability to find the second and third closest ZIP
codes (in addition to the closest) when comparing a target to a ZIP
code list. We also review how to reinstall CDXZipStream on a
new or refurbished computer.

Find the
Second and Third-Closest ZIPs with CDXClosestZip
CDXClosestZip
is a CDXZipStream right-click function that identifies out of a list
of ZIP codes the closest one to a target ZIP code. Now you have
the ability to find the second and third-closest ZIPs too. This
can be used to find the closest stores for customers, the closest
medical facilities for patients, and for a myriad of other scenarios
that support your business or organizational needs. In each
case the function can return either the ZIP code or its distance from
the target ZIP. And if you have our Canadian database, it works
for Canadian postal codes as well.
To use
CDXClosestZip, just right click on any cell in your worksheet, and
input the target and the range of ZIP codes to be searched:
You also have
the options of using a worksheet cell location for the target ZIP and
a named range for the ZIP code list. Specify the output you need
(first, second, or third-closest ZIP or its corresponding distance
from the target) and click OK. Once the formula is returned to
the worksheet, you can then copy and paste it along a list of
customer ZIP codes, for instance, to obtain data for a list of
targets.
CDXClosestZip
is included in the CDXZipStream Lite, Basic, and Premium demographic
versions. This new functionality is free for those versions and
can be obtained by updating to CDXZipStream version 11.2.4.
To do this just click on the "License Information and
Software Updates" icon on the CDXZipStream toolbar, and click on
Product Updates. If you currently don't have any of these
versions and need to upgrade your license to obtain this function,
please log in to your CDX Technologies account and go to the "My
Account" and "Product Management" areas to purchase an
upgraded license.

CDXZipStream
Reinstallation
The number one question we receive from our clients is
how to reinstall CDXZipStream on a new or refurbished computer.
Here's how it's done:
Download and install the CDXZipStream demo on the new
computer. When installation is complete and Microsoft Excel opens,
press the third button on the CDXZipStream toolbar named
"Licenses and Software Updates". (If you are using Excel
2007 or 2010, the CDXZipStream toolbar is located under the
"Add-Ins" menu.) Then press the "Buy Now" button
followed by pressing "Generate KeyCode" and log into your
account at CDXTech.com using the username and password you received
with your original purchase. If you did not retain your original
purchase information the username is usually your email address; you
can also reset the password from the website.
A web page
allowing you to generate a new keycode should appear with your new
Computer ID automatically entered. This Computer ID is unique for
each PC and your registration code is based on it. Then press
"Next" to generate your new registration key.
Copy your new keycode from the box that appears and then press the
"-" in the upper right corner and minimize your browser.
Then paste the copied code into the "Keycode" section of
the "CDXZipStream Purchase and Registration" box and press
"OK". (This is the box where you pressed the "Generate
Keycode" button.) CDXZipStream will now be fully activated on
your computer.
Also:
Don't forget to install data files that support your
CDXZipStream version, such as those required for demographic analysis
or the Canadian postal code database. You can access and
download these by logging into our web site and selecting the Product
Management area of your account.

were 54 changes made to the U.S. database this month. If
you would like to update your database to reflect these changes,

icon on the CDXZipStream toolbar, and select "Data Updates"
to login to your account.
We hope you
