We've
just released another easy-to-use "one-click"
template for reverse geocoding, which can take a
long list of latitude/longitude points (such as
those downloaded from a GPS) and find the closest
address for each. And by customer request,
we provide step-by-step instructions on how to
reinstall CDXZipStream on a new computer or
laptop. How
to Reinstall CDXZipStream on a New
Computer
We
often get phone calls from registered users asking
how to reinstall CDXZipStream on a newly purchased
computer. Our license agreement is set up on
a per user basis, not by computer, so there is no
problem doing this. This also means that you
can install CDXZipStream on a spare computer such
as a laptop. This can also be handy
when you are doing long calculations such as
routing with MapPoint where you do not want to tie
up your main pc. Our license does not permit
sharing with other users on these additional
machines. To
set up CDXZipStream on a new computer simply
download and
install the CDXZipStream demo on the new
computer. When installation is complete and
Microsoft Excel opens, press the third button on
the CDXZipStream toolbar named "Licenses and
Software Updates". (If you are using Excel 2007 or
2010, the CDXZipStream toolbar is located under
the "Add-Ins" menu.) Then press the "Buy Now"
button followed by pressing "Generate KeyCode" and
log into our web site using the username and
password you received with your original
purchase. If you did not retain your
original purchase information please contact us at
support@cdxtech.com A
web page allowing you to generate a new keycode
should appear with your new Computer ID
automatically entered. This Computer ID is unique
for each PC and your registration code is based on
it. Then press "Next" to generate your new
registration key. Copy
your new keycode from the box that appears and
then press the "x" in the upper right corner and
minimize your browser. Then paste the copied code
into the "Keycode" section of the "CDXZipStream
Purchase and Registration" box and press "OK".
(This is the box where you pressed the "Generate
Keycode" button.) CDXZipStream will now be fully
activated on your computer. Your
online account can also be used to purchase data
updates or upgrade your product to a more powerful
version. A history of all data purchases is
maintained in the "Download Data Files"
section. Easy
Reverse Geocoding in a One-Click
Template As
another addition to our series of easy-to-use,
one-click Excel templates, we now have a reverse
geocoding template. Reverse geocoding, which
identifies the closest address to a geocode
(latitude and longitude) point, is a critical
component of mobile location-based services. The
template is a free download
from our website, and can be tested with free
trials of CDXZipStream and Microsoft MapPoint;
links to free trials for both are available within
the template itself. To
use the template, enter the geocode points of
interest, or you can copy and paste them from
another application. Then just click the button
"Reverse Geocode" and the calculations
proceed automatically. Long lists of points can be
geocoded very quickly, and no special knowledge or
computer skills are required. For a quick
demonstration, please see our short YourTube video

Many more templates to help automate common tasks with CDXZipstream are available on our website. The templates help
automates tasks such as closest zip analysis, driving distance, geocoding, route optimization and much, much more. The templates are much simpler to use for large scale analysis than entering the formulas yourself.
Calculations such as route distances can take a long time to run and the templates will show calculation progress and allow to cancel the operation at any time. Just copy in your data and click a buttton to use them.
CDXZipStream
