Distributing CDXZipStream Reports to Others

The CDXZipStream add-in provides custom zip code and other formula in Excel.

The add-in must be installed for these functions to calculate correctly. Uninstalling the add-in will cause a #NAME? error to appear in the cell indicating that Excel does not know what to do with the formula.

If you email or send a worksheet to someone else who does have CDXZipStream installed the same error will occur whenever Excel recalculates. Excel will recalculate under many situations you might not expect such as opening the spreadsheet, moving rows or closing the spreadsheet down. Even though the formulas calculated and displayed correctly on your computer the #NAME? error can easily appear on another without CDXZipStream installed.

There are two ways to handle this situation when emailing reports. The first is to set the spreadsheet recalculation to manual using the Excel - Formulas - Calculation Options menu option. The second is to set all of your formulas to values using the Excel Copy and Excel Paster special options. Using either of these options will insure that your intended recipient will be able to see the results you expected.

Census 2020 US Census Release Date Update

We have received some disappointing news from the US Census. The release of the complete Census 2020 data set has been delayed until May 2023 as described in the following news release:

This means we have to wait another year to update all of our demographic fields in the main zip code database. This affects items such as population, race, gender and others.

The American Community Survey from the US Census continues to be the most up to data and detailed information currently available.for the year 2020. If you need this type of information now please consider updating to the ACS version or our product. CDXZipStream ACS includes detailed tables for the ZCTA (Zip Code), CBSA, Place, State and County geographies.

Latest Data Updates

U.S. and Canadian data feeds of CDXZipStream were updated as of May 25. If you would like to update your database to reflect these changes, select the "Account" option on the CDXZipStream menu in Excel and click on "Check for Available Database Updates". You can then update each database as required.

CDXZipStream updates are a part of the one-year software maintenance subscription included with your purchase. If you would like to extend your subscription, please sign in to the CDX Technologies website and from the account area for CDXZipStream, select "Buy Data Update". The maintenance agreement also includes access to the latest version of CDXZipStream.
