Microsoft announced that they are unifying Bing Maps for Enterprise with Azure Maps, aiming to create a single enterprise mapping platform. As part of this transition, Bing Maps for Enterprise will be retired.

Key dates and details:

• June 30, 2025: Customers using Bing Maps for Enterprise Basic or Free licenses will lose access to services. They are encouraged to migrate to Azure Maps.
• Customers can continue using Bing Maps for Enterprise until June 30, 2028, if they upgrade to a paid Enterprise License by contacting Microsoft at maplicq@microsoft.com before June 30, 2025.
• June 30, 2028: All Bing Maps for Enterprise services and support will end.

We are also just receiving this news and have not yet finalized a strategy to deal with it.  It’s likely CDXZipStream would have to change along with the account you would need to set up with Microsoft. We will keep you updated on this topic with this newsletter.

As an alternative to Bing Maps, We recommend that you take advantage of the HERE Technologies location and routing functions (CDXLocateHere and CDXRouteHERE) in CDXZipStream which offer similar capabilities to Bing.
