Between MapPoint Europe and North America
CDXZipStream
was originally designed for use with Microsoft MapPoint North America,
but our growing client base has successfully used it with the
European version as well. With the addition of an Application
Settings option on the toolbar of CDXZipStream 11, you now can pick
and choose which version of MapPoint CDXZipStream will use, depending
upon the location of the data being analyzed.
Just go to the
CDXZipStream toolbar at the top of your screen, and click on the
fourth icon from the left. (In Excel 2007 and 2010, remember to
click on "Add-ins" first). Use the dropdown list to
choose which version of MapPoint you would like to use, and click OK.
And you're done! (If you only have one version of MapPoint
installed on your computer, CDXZipStream will automatically use that
one; you don't have to worry about setting this feature at
all.)
Keep in mind
that if you're performing an analysis for locations in Europe, and
the MapPoint setting is North America, CDXZipStream will not
work. If you find that "Data Item Not Found" is being
returned consistently for the locations in your worksheet, please
check that the correct MapPoint version is selected.
As an aside,
MapPoint is only available in the two N.A. and European versions.
The level of mapping detail varies from country to country, and
this does impact the routing, geocoding, and address verification
calculations in CDXZipStream In North America, both the U.S.
and Canada have excellent street-level detail, but Mexico has only
limited street coverage. In MapPoint Europe 2011, detailed street-level
maps are available for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France,
Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway,
Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Limited street level coverage is available for Albania, Andorra,
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Crotia, Czech Republic, Estonia,
Gibraltar, Guernsey, Hungary, Ireland, Jersey, Latvia, Lithuania,
Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Isle of Man, Monaco, Montenegro, Poland,
Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, San Marino, and Vatican City.
